Practical ‘hands on’ product and general moving/handling training is provided as part of our product offering.Training is delivered to the highest standards by experienced trainers the end users needs and expectations are consistently exceeded.
Training is provided at our Regional Service Centres, or can be provided at other locations to meet customer needs.
We can offer accredited training programmes provided in partnership

This course is ideal for anyone who has responsibility for Moving & Handling in their workplace. We will look at the latest Kings Fund report on keeping older people out of hospital, look at techniques to reduce carer numbers, the changes to RIDDOR, pressure mapping sling fabrics and other topical Moving & Handling issues – including the 3rd edition of the COT guidance in Moving & Handling. CPD Certificates will be issued.

5 Day Train the Trainer Course - Moving and Handling of People
This is an extended course (1 day a week for 5 weeks)The sessions are designed to increase theoretical and practical skills which can then be transferred to change Moving & handling practice in the work place. This unique programme combines a collaborative approach to learning between Prism Medical and the University of Salford.

Bariatric Study Day 2013
Wednesday 11th September at Grange Moor, WakefieldThis practical day will focus on equipment and moving & handling techniques most suitable for bariatric clients, both in the acute sector and the community. There will be 6 different work station, each with a specific problem/task that each delegate will spend time at.
There will be equipment for several companies for you to view and try.
The day will enhance your awareness of the problems bariatric clients and the carers face including:
- Risk assessments
- Body shape and dynamics
- Bariatric managenebt
- Turning and repositioning in bed
- Raising from the floor
- Assisting up and down stairs
- Lateral transfers
- Bariatric beds and hoists
- Sling management

Paediatric Study Day 2013
Thursday 19th September at Grange Moor, WakefieldSafer handling techniques benefit the child and the carer. The day will look at some techniques that will enable the safer moving and handling of children, in acute and home settings. Parents, carers and nursery works often see hoisting as a negative tool that will impact and delay a child’s motor development. Therefore it is always crucial that good handling is incorporated into the child’s handling plan.
We shall investigate simple and sensible methods of moving and handling children.
